i carry your heart

We did this for two years-being apart. How horrible it was being a half a world away, but how sweet it was having him back. He's been gone this week and I've missed him terribly. I'm so happy he's coming back to me again.

i carry your heart

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

This past Sunday we attended my Elle and Sophia's blessings. Nicole, my cousin, carried these two adorable twin girls 37 weeks. They were both close to seven pounds, she takes care of them in a 400 sq. ft. apartment in NYC and well she's my hero. I can't imagine having twins. I can't imagine having newborns in a teeny tiny apartment. I feel so lucky to get to be apart of special moments like these and to have Nicole in my life. Congrats and thanks.

Shoes, shoes, shoes

Most girls I know really like shoes and I'm no exception. Apparently Hannah is one step ahead of us all. From the moment she wakes up her quest is certain--to find shoes and try each and every one on. It's cute the first few pairs, but then I wonder if I'm suddenly working at some high end shoe store with a VERY temperamental customer. Here she is in one of my cooler, way back in high school, pairs.

My Dad

is awesome! I had a glorious day last Friday, because for two hours he came and took my kids on an outing to Cabellas. He has done stuff like this with Gen for awhile now, but Hannah is finally old enough to go too. They had a great time seeing the fish and all of the other animals and also spent some times honing their shooting skills at the arcade.

I, on the other hand, had a unique, blissful two hours in the middle of the day to clean the car (which I was actually thrilled to finally accomplish), visit the bookstore and just sit with no worries. That hasn't happened in three years. He saved my life. Thanks Dad! I love you!

The 4th

Holidays are fabulous! We had a fantastic time watching the parade, eating a scrumptious lunch hosted by my amazing mother and watching the fireworks. The best part was having Russ home for an extra day.

The Parade

The Yummy Food

After a few hours of very fruitless efforts with trying to put the girls to sleep, we finally gave up and just let them wait up to see the fireworks

The Parade Through Genevieve's Eyes

When Gen and I were talking about the fourth about a week before it was to happen, the fourth was something she wanted to continually talk about. By the way, it's never a good idea to talk to Gen about an exciting event before the day of. She has absolutely no concept of time and she will continually pester me about Disneyland, the parade or whatever. Here is her "view" of the parade.

There was shocking number of a certain little boy who was sitting next to us. Notice him behind Russ. Most of the lovely shots only had him in it. Good grief.

And there were quite a few of a Timpview blanket. Really? Haven't I taught her better than that? She needs to know where her loyalties should lie.

Breakfast at Wimbledon

We met the tennis greats bright and early Saturday morning. We were able to watch some good tennis and eat some traditional strawberries and cream before dashing off to the parade. If you didn't catch Wimbledon you should definitely mark your calendars for August 25th. Unfortunately we are still in the dark ages and I'll be catching it when it's on the usual channels or I'll be heading up to my parents to leech off of their satellite.

Hannah did not enjoy breakfast, but then again I'm having serious struggles with her and her eating behavior.
